Springing Forward

Classes have been goinTG-MOTM-poster-B--032317g great over the last few weeks! We are so proud of our students as they continue to grow, learn new skills and make new friends.

We had a wonderful night last Saturday at the Temple Grandin School’s “Meeting of the Minds” in Boulder. We were very proud to sponsor this event and it was fantastic to listen to the brilliance of Dr. Temple Grandin, John Elder Robison and Steve Silberman. A big thank you to our friends at the Temple Grandin School for organizing and hosting such an amazing event!

As we continue to grow we’re looking for more and better ways to support our amazing community. Our May class offerings are now up! Please check out some new classes and the new days/nights they are offered. Also, we’re proud to offer a FREE night for parents and adults in our community to get together, create and relax. This group meets on the first Tuesday of every month at our building. Please visit our facebook page for more details.

Here are some photos our classes in action over the last few weeks:

A Letter To Our Supporters

Web
Dear TACT Supporters,
We wanted to share some exciting news about the future of TACT.  Since our inception we have been doing our very best to bring what we believe is a strengths-based approach to our amazing community. We believe in your children, their amazing hearts, and minds and want to help provide a future for them.
We’re excited to share that we’re aiming to launch TACT full time in the Fall. Our goal is to not only continue our night and weekend classes but also to set TACT up as a school for your children to have a path towards a bright future.
We’ll also be launching two paths of employment for individuals with autism – one in the automotive field and another in construction. These are two fields in high demand that can be rewarding while also providing joy, happiness and helping your children become financially independent. Do you have a child on the spectrum looking for a job? This may be the path.
In order to do this, we need your help. Please join us at our open house on 4/2 to see the space we’ve built and team we’ve put together. What we’re trying to do has never been done before. The Colorado Department of Education recently called us “pioneers.” We have the people, the students, the intention, but we need your support.
If you haven’t done so yet, please consider donating to us. Please tell your friends, family, neighbors and co-workers.
Thank you for your amazing support! We hope to see you at our open house. If you can’t make it please contact one of our team members to learn more.
Sincerely,
The TACT Team

Mission, Vision & Values

We wanted to share our mission, vision and values. These are the things that guide the TACT team.  We are looking forward to a world that embraces the amazing abilities and strengths that are in our students, their families and our wonderfully neurodiverse community.

2017 Classes Are Under Way!

Happy New Year! We’re thrilled to say that we now have a variety of classes on a regular basis each month. Classes include electronics, auto-mechanics, woodworking, fiber arts and instrument making.  We’ve also set up online registration to make signing your child up easier. Please visit our registration page for more details.

Our new classroom space in Denver is almost completed and we had our first class in it over the weekend. What an absolute blast! The new space is going to work out extremely well and we’re so grateful for it.  Our students pulled their very first engine, removed the doors and got closer toward our goal of restoring the ’75 Jeep. Soon they’ll remove the axles, transmission and transfer case and learn to rebuild all these parts. We’re so proud of all they’re learning and accomplishing.

Here are some photos of our students hard at work and some photos our how our space is coming along! Please visit our facebook page for a great video of the moment the engine was pulled, too.
